The US President Donald Trump opened up on the strained ties between India and Pakistan and described the current situation as "very, very bad" while interacting with media at the Oval Office. He was responding to questions related to the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir where Pakistani based terror outfit had killed 40 CRPF soldiers in a suicide attack.
"Right now between Pakistan and India, there is a very, very bad situation. A very dangerous situation. We would like to see it (hostilities) stop. A lot of people were just killed. We want to see it just stop. We are very much involved in that (process)," according to news agency PTI.
"India is looking at something very strong. India just lost almost 50 people in the attack. I can understand that too. We're talking. A lot of people are. It's going to be a very, very delicate balance. There is a lot of problems between India and Pakistan because of what just happened," he added.
Meanwhile, a mass crackdown has been launched against Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in the Valley as dozens of its leaders have been arrested in nocturnal raids by government forces. In north, south Kashmir and central Kashmir, forces carried out nocturnal raids to pick Jamaat leaders and cadre from their residences.
