Natalie Portman ‘open’ to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Tuesday,13 Feb 2018 03:26 PM IST

Natalie Portman recently expressed that she is “open” to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster but hasn't heard anything. She said, “I'm completely open to everything, but I have no news about that.” The actress previously starred as Chris Hemsworth's love interest in the first two Thor movies but did not reprise the role for the latest standalone film Thor: Ragnarok.

Her character was mentioned by Thor in a scene in Avengers: Age Of Ultron and was referenced in Thor: Ragnarok where it was revealed she had split up with the God of Thunder.

According to reports Portman had previously signed a three-picture deal with Marvel but reportedly had a troubled time filming Thor: The Dark World and was apparently unimpressed with director Patty Jenkins' departure, as well as the finished product by filmmaker Alan Taylor.

Portman had spoken out about her MCU alter-ego back in 2016 when she said, “As far as I know, I'm done. I don't know if, maybe one day, they'll ask for an ‘Avengers 7’ or whatever. I have no idea. But as far as I know I'm done. But it was a great thing to be a part of.”
