10:12 am Jodhpur: On Saturday, when a person entered the Circuit House and tried to touch the feet of President Kovind, a significant lapse was noticed on the security side of President Ram Nath Kovind. The police immediately caught hold of the man and took him out. Taking note of the security lapse, officials have suspended six policemen. According to the police, the man has been identified as Dinesh Chand, who is a resident of Ajmer and is reportedly mentally unstable. The President was in Jodhpur to inaugurate the new building of the main bench of the Rajasthan High Court on Saturday.
09:12 am New Delhi: A fire broke out at Sadar Bazaar of North Delhi early this morning at a factory in the town. When the fire broke out at the six-story factory in Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Street, the labourers were asleep. At 5:22 AM, a call was received about the blaze, after which 30 fire engines rushed to the spot. Twenty people were saved and rushed into Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Hindu Rao Hospital stuck inside, fire officials said.
01:12 pm A petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Saturday seeking registration of First Information Report (FIR), inquiry and action against police personnel involved in the encounter of the four accused in the gang rape and murder of a 27-year-old Telangana veterinarian. Lawyers GS Mani and Pradeep Kumar Yadav filed the petition. We approached the Supreme Court saying the 2014 orders of the supreme court had not been followed. In the wee hours of Friday, all the four accused in the gang-rape case were killed in an encounter by the Telangana Police.

11:12 am Lucknow: A fast-track court will hear the case of the woman in Unnao who was set on fire by men charged with raping her, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today. The 23-year-old woman died last night at a hospital in Delhi from her burning wounds. Yogi Adityanath said he is "extremely saddened to hear of the woman's death". "The case will be heard in a fast-track court and strictest of punishment will be given to the culprits," the Chief Minister said in a statement. The woman, who sustained 90% burns after being set on fire on Thursday, died at 11:40 p.m. from a cardiac arrest at the Safdarjung Hospital, where she was airlifted from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night.

09:12 am New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman, who was set on fire by men accused of raping her in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao, died at a hospital in Delhi late last night. The woman, who sustained 90% burns after being set on fire on Thursday, died at 11:40 p.m. from a cardiac arrest at the Safdarjung Hospital, where she was airlifted to Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night. "She suffered cardiac arrest at 11:10 p.m. and we tried to resuscitate her, but she was unable to survive and she died at 11:40 p.m.," said Dr. Shalabh Kumar, Safdarjung Hospital.
