Marathi communities have begun their bandh in Maharashtra to press their demand for reservation in jobs and education. The organisers behind the protest have been conducting a rally at Vasai along with a strong slogan "Adivasi bachao Adivasi padhao "

The Navi Mumbai region gets a concession this time as the city was affected mostly in the band organized on the 25th of last month.

Amol Jadhav Rao, leader of the Sakaal Maratha Samaj comprising various Maratha unions, has said that the protest will be held in a peaceful manner  from 8 am to 6 pm and all essential services, schools and colleges have been excluded from the protest, but many schools have announced holiday today citing violence.

The Maratha organisations have been standing in two roads since the assurance made by the Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis that final decision regarding reservation will come out within November. One section of the Maratha organsiation stays with CM's promise while the other section goes ahead with their protest as they demand that the CM should pen his promise instead of his verbal assurance.

Many educational institutions in Pune will remain shut today as the city had suffered the heat of protest during the bandh on July 25.
