Mumbai: BJP's Devendra Fadnavis took oath as chief minister of Maharashtra for a second term today morning at Raj Bhavan more than a week after the state was placed under the rule of the president. The nephew of Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Conference Party chief, Ajit Pawar, will be his deputy. "Maharashtra needed a stable government, not a Khichidi government," said Fadnavis after the oath, adding that the Shiv Sena "did not follow the mandate of the people." "I thank the NCP for coming to help forming this government. We all know that for the last few days there has been the law of the president. Shiv Sena has not followed the mandate," he said.
