On Tuesday, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra refused to enter Uttar Pradesh's Meerut as they were on their way to meet the kids of the victims who lost their lives in protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and suggested the National Citizens ' Register (NRC). Stopped by the police near Partapur police station, the Gandhi siblings returned to Delhi. "Because of their visit, they were told they would be held responsible for any deterioration in the district's law and order situation," the statement said.
