Unnao rape case to be heard in Fast-Track Court: Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow: A fast-track court will hear the case of the woman in Unnao who was set on fire by men charged with raping her, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today. The 23-year-old woman died last night at a hospital in Delhi from her burning wounds. Yogi Adityanath said he is "extremely saddened to hear of the woman's death". "The case will be heard in a fast-track court and strictest of punishment will be given to the culprits," the Chief Minister said in a statement.
The woman, who sustained 90% burns after being set on fire on Thursday, died at 11:40 p.m. from a cardiac arrest at the Safdarjung Hospital, where she was airlifted from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night.
