Rahul Gandhi to contest from Wayanad
NEW DELHI: Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has decided to contest from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala, apart from his own bastion Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Senior leaders AK Antony and Randeep Singh Surjewala jointly announced the decision which helped in ending speculations and confusions regarding Rahul Gandhi's arrival to the south.
Wayanad, situates in the northern part of Kerala, is a hilly district and borders with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The decision will partly satisfy the Congress workers of neighbouring states, where they had also made requests to bring Rahul into the election picture, as Wayanad is considered as a tri-junction.
