Jhansi: Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission in Jhansi, UP, the women of Karila Mata Mahila Self-Help Group are enjoying the fruits of their hard work.
Aarti Jha, associated with the Jai Mata group of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, now operates modern machines. Earlier, she used to grind sattu and dalia by hand.
Her life has changed since she joined the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
After taking a loan from the group, she said that he purchased a small grinding mill. Now, she also makes papad.
Aarti said that before joining the group, she had never stepped out of her home alone. But today, she travels alone to Delhi and Lucknow and also goes to Jhansi city to sell her goods. Due to this, she earns up to Rs 20 thousand every month. Now, she is providing better education to the children.
Women are becoming empowered and self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Scheme of the Central Government.
