Karnal, Haryana : The war between Iran and Israel continues. Now America has also entered this war. This tense situation is directly affecting India’s trade, especially the export of Basmati rice. Rice traders are worried due to this. Satish Goyal, President of the All India Rice Association, said that currently about 1 lakh tonnes of rice is stuck at Indian ports, which was ready for export. Iran is a major buyer of Basmati rice and every year around 1 million tonnes i.e. 10 lakh tonnes of Basmati rice is exported from India to Iran. This is 18 to 20 percent of India’s total Basmati rice exports. On Tuesday, the traders will be meeting union Minister Pitush Goyal and request for some relief from the government.
