Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi Fellowship Award For 50 Young Musicians

Mumbai: Fifty young and promising musicians from all over the country in all disciplines like vocal, violin, flute, mrudangam, table, saxophone and nadaswaram were presented the Sri Shanmukhananda Shriram Seva Sankalp foundation, late M.S.Subbulakshmi fellowship in music instituted by the Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha, at the Sabha auditorium in Mumbai. The award carries a cash award of Rs. one lakh each for three years.

Till date, the Sabha has conferred the fellowship on 203 young musicians.

On the same occasion, Sri Shanmukhananda Dr. M.S.Subbulakshmi Sangeetha Pracharya awards were presented to Dr. (Smt.) Kamalakshi Omanakutty and Kuldeep Pai. The award carries a citation, a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, a big lamp, the Sabha Trophy and a shawl.

Dr. Kamalakshi Omanakutty, an accomplished Carnatic Vocalist and Music Teacher, is widely recognised for her contributions in the field of Indian Classical Music. She is known for her versatile skills as an academician, guru, administrator, researcher and publications in the field of music. She has been the director cum Secretary of Sangeetha Bharati, Thycaud, Trivandrum, for over a decade.

Kuldeep M. Pai, a renowned musician, composer, vocalist and music producer, is revered for his groundbreaking musical series “Vande Guruparamparam” featuring children, which has garnered widespread acclaim, amassing 1.5 billion original views on YouTube alone – an unparalleled achievement in the realm of spiritual music.

Mr.Justice K.R.Shriram, Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, presented the awards.
