BMC SUGGESTS VEHICLE PARK

The Mumbai Parking Authority (MPA) has made a suggestion during the week to allow public parking in vacant areas or to leave over parking slots in malls. The MPA is also planning to launch an app that will introduce people to the parking areas around them, including those in shopping malls.

"By speaking to mall owners, we're exploring the concept of generating more parking possibilities. Our goal is to guarantee that they profit while decongesting the town highways. The plans of the Mumbai Parking Authority were welcomed by institutions and organizations. This is in everyone's interest, "said Mumbai Parking Authority member Shishir Joshi.

The authority had also scheduled to look at housing societies and BEST depots before this in order to generate more parking spaces. A senior civil official said, "We've told them what we need[ mall owners] and how we're going to do it. We have received a favorable reaction from mall owners, but they had some doubts about some problems that need to be resolved.
