Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi has targeted the Maharashtra government over the murder of Baba Siddiqui.

He said, “…this entire incident has frightened the people of Maharashtra and Mumbai. ‘Iqbal’ (power) of the police has been shot at. Law and order has gone into the abyss. Be it the Bandra incident, Badlapur incident, Pune gangrape or the firing incident in Thane….

Such incidents are happening continuously in Maharashtra. The administration is a complete failure. Instead of taking responsibility, the Home Minister is busy in politics of manipulation….”
