Mumbai: Extending his greetings, the Governor said, “This is the first Gudi Padwa celebration after the Marathi language was granted the status of a classical language. I appeal to everyone to celebrate the recognition of Marathi with renewed enthusiasm. I extend my heartiest greetings and good wishes to all for a happy Gudi Padwa and the New Year. I also send my greetings on the occasion of Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Baisakhi, and Samsar Padavo. May the new year bring happiness, contentment, good health, and prosperity to all.”

Governor performs Gudhi Pujan
Furthermore, the Governor raised the Gudhi on the occasion of Gudhi Padwa and performed the Gudhi Pujan at his residence in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan at Mumbai on Sun. The Governor also extended his Gudi Padwa and new year greetings to the staff and officers of Raj Bhavan, assembled on the occasion.

Message on Eid-Ul-Fitr
On the pious occasion marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan, the Governor greeted the people on Eid-Ul-Fitr with the message, “The auspicious month of Ramzan attaches importance to fasting, prayers and acts of charity.  May Eid-Ul-Fitr bring happiness, contentment and prosperity to all. Wishing Eid Mubarak to all, especially to Muslim brothers and sisters.”
