Mumbai: The Prathista day celebration of Lord Kochu Guruvayoorappan at Asthika Samaj, Matunga,Mumbai , concluded today, after six days of religious ceremony with 108 Dravya Kalasabhishekam to the Lord.
Kerala Guruvayoor temple Tantri Brihaspathy Sri Dinesan Namboodiripad conducted the proceedings on all six days with various religious ceremonies including Vastu homam, Vastu Kalasabhishekam, Prayaschitha Kalas Pooja, Brahma Kalasa pooja and finally with 108 dravya Kalasabhishekam.
This is the only temple outside Kerala Guruvayoor which has the idol and temple similar to Guruvayoor temple and conducts all poojas as it happens in Kerala.
Recently the Asthika Samaj conducted Maha Kumbhabhishekams to the idols of Ram and his consorts and also Hanuman. The Maha Kumbhabhishekams of Lord Guruvayoorappan and Lord Ayyappan will be held in a few months time, said S. Ramakrishnan of the temple committee.
