On the auspicious occasion of transit of Lord Guru Bhagavan also called Sri Dakshinamurthy, Lord of wisdom, from Dhanur Rasi (Sagittarious) to Magara Rasi (Capricorn), several temples in Mumbai  conducted special poojas. At Sri Sankara Mattham, Matunga, the function started with Sri Ganapathy homam followed by Navagraha Shanthi homam, Dakshinamurthy homam and finally the idol of the lord was bathed with holy water, decorated with gold kavach and flowers and then deeparadhana was performed. This function also marks the occasion of the opening  of the temples for devotees from Monday November 16.
