For the third time, Sr. Police Inspector from Mahim Shahunagar Police Station Mr Vilas Balku Gangavane has been awarded the President’s Police medal for distinguished service on the Republic day in Mumbai. Gangavane has been working in Police service for the last 37 years. He is from Parmale village in Satara district. He got Police Medal for the first time in 2001. During 26/11 Mumbai terror attack at CST, he daringly stood along with his team and fought with the terrorists. For this, he was awarded the President’s Police medal for the second time in 2011. So far he has received more than 534 rewards during his service.
