A convicted drug peddler was stabbed to death in Central Prison in Hisar and two other convicts were wounded when on Thursday morning about 20 prisoners, supposedly members of a rival gang, assaulted the trio.

The deceased has been recognized as Ravinder Singh, 33, a Fatehabad district village resident of Sardarwala. Harjeet Singh and Tajinder Singh have been recognized as the wounded.

The assailants were led by Jagdish, who assaulted Ravinder numerous times with an ice pick on his chest, head, feet, and hands, according to the complainant. Other assailants, including Jagdish, Pawan, Dilbagh, Deepak, Sachin, Pankaj, Ajay, Ankit, Sonu and Akshay, assaulted Ravinder's assistants Tajinder and Harjeet.

The three victims have been rushed to the Hisar Civil Hospital, where Ravinder has succumbed to his wounds while the other two are being treated.
