Kolkata, West Bengal: Wazahat Khan, who filed a complaint against law student Sharmistha Panoli for hate speech, was produced before Alipore Court’s Chief Judicial Magistrate. On Monday, he was arrested by the Kolkata Police. Earlier, on behalf of Shri Ram Swabhiman Parishad, an FIR was lodged against Wajahat Khan (Rashidi Foundation) at Garden Reach Police Station. Shri Ram Swabhiman Parishad, Secretary, Suraj Kumar Singh, says, “You all are aware of the case involving Sharmistha. In this matter, the way the police from Garden Reach Police travelled nearly 15 kilometres to arrest. Today, we are here to file an FIR. But this FIR is not against Sharmistha, it is against Wajahat Khan, the General Secretary of the Rashidi Foundation…”
