A 30-year-old man hacked his wife to death and cut her head off as she tried to stop him from drinking on Sunday night at the Itimad-ud-Daula police station in Agra, police said Monday. The accused, who surrendered before Hari Parvat Police Station with his wife's severed head before the police, confessed to the crime and was immediately arrested. The accused, Naresh Kumar, was a mechanic, according to police, and he used to have regular fights about his drinking habit with his wife Shanti.
