How to do Puja?
Pitra Paksha started on 18th September and will continue for 16 days.
According to Hindu beliefs, the door to the ancestral world opens during these 16 days.
During Pitru Paksha, people offer water to their ancestors, Pind Daan and food to Brahmins etc.
The eldest or youngest son of the family performs Pindadan. According to Sanatan Dharma, no auspicious work is done during these days. Pandit Raju Jha of Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi, said that Pitripaksha ends after 15-16 days on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha.
