Ujjain: Lord Shri Krishna and his brother Balram came to the Gurukul of Sandipani Ashram, located on Ankpat Marg, Ujjain, to receive education from Maharishi Sandipani.
Sandipani Ashram is the oldest educational institution in the world. While staying in this ashram, the Lord and his brother assimilated (learned) four Vedas, six scriptures, eighteen Puranas, sixty-four arts, knowledge of Geeta, and Guruseva in sixty-four days.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has asked people to celebrate the festival of Janmashtami in places associated with Lord Shri Krishna.

Moreover, four places associated with Lord Krishna in MP will be developed as pilgrimage sites. These include Sandipani Ashram of Ujjain, Narayan Dham, Amjhera Temple of Dhar district and Janapav of Indore.
This year, the preparations for Janmashtami at Sandipani Ashram and Narayan Dham in Ujjain are nothing short of spectacular. The excitement is palpable as the ashram gears up for the grand celebrations.
CM Dr Mohan Yadav will attend the Aarti, which will be held at midnight on Monday at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain. The entire temple has been decorated, and cultural programmes will be organised from the evening onwards.
