IGNOU's loan-scheme workshop for disabled students

The National Centre for Disability Studies (NCDS) of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has planned a workshop to create awareness of the various loan schemes for educational and vocational training of students with disabilities.
"NCDS has planned a workshop July 31 at the Convention Centre, IGNOU to acquaint students, parents and other community members," informed an IGNOU official.
The loan scheme is an initiative of the National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
"Educational and vocational courses are the two main components of rehabilitation, so people with disabilities could be a productive member of society," said an IGNOU statement.
Students studying at the regional and study centres of IGNOU along with its academic and non-academic staff are expected to attend.
IGNOU is the world's largest open university system with a pan-India and international reach with flexible entry qualifications and a wide range of academic programmes at affordable cost.
