Comedy calls writer Niranjan Iyengar

After penning dialogues for many films like "D Day", "Ra.One", "We Are Family", and "My Name Is Khan" among others, Niranjan Iyengar is keen on writing a comedy.
"I want to write a comedy. My personality is such. I have done only one film, which had tones of comedy, which was 'Life Partner'. But I want to dabble into that part of my writing more," Iyengar told IANS.
Apart from writing dialogues for films, he has also penned lyrics for songs for films like "My Name Is Khan" and "Kurbaan" among others. Later he penned the item number "Halkat jawani" for "Heroine" and says it was to prove his versatility.
"I wrote only one item number and it was a complete rebellion… There was a sort of an impression that I can only write those kinds of songs (like in 'My Name Is Khan' or 'Kurbaan'). To break that I wrote 'Halkat jawani'… I have never faced any criticism," he said.
Any plans to direct a movie?
"There are no plans of directing a film as of now. The day I will feel that I have a strong story to tell, I will direct it as well," said Iyengar.
