For Brad Pitt she is a heroine of life and all her attempts are hailed. She had received all mental support from her long time fiancée, in accomplishing successfully the recent double mastectomy.
This 37 year old actress who has Oscar award to her credit and mother of 6 children got her both breasts operated and removed in February as a precautionary measure as doctors warned about a Brca 1 gene, that she carried and was harmful for future health. She thanked her partner for standing with her during this emotional trauma for the sake of her health as well as children.
Her mother died of cancer to the ovaries and breasts. Her family has strong proof of genetic, inherited risk making them highly prone to breast cancer and this made Jolie take a wise decision of removing breasts and reconstructing with implants in April.
Anyway, Jolie has not yet taken any final decision on removal of ovaries, as it is often advised in cases where women are identified with gene mutation. She is now accolade with praises for this courageous act from family and friends. Film world has described this as a heroic act inspiring many women in future.
As an answer to the question that raised doubts whether this operation was necessary and whether she was overdoing it, women folk from various countries and fields have given a positive reaction expressing that prevention is always better than cure.
