Helena Bonham Carter attended the BAFTA awards with playwright James Ivory where the writer won a BAFTA for the critically-acclaimed film, Call Me By Your Name.

However, rather than being captivated by his award win, the moment when Helena Bonham Carter went to give Ivory a congratulatory kiss on the cheek  which awkwardly landed on his shoulder, was the centre of attention by the viewers which sent Twitter into a frenzy.

This led to a flood of tweets as one of the viewers tweeted, “Helena Bonham Carter should win an award for most awkward kiss of the night (she got James Ivory’s shoulder).”

While another continued, “That Helena Bonham Carter jacket kiss is the quality content I tuned in for.”

While many more users asserted that the moment was hilarious as well as quite cringe worthy.
