Adhi, who formed Chennai-based band HipHop Tamizha, believes that internet helps promote talent, but admits record labels are important too.

 

 

 Adhi, who recently sang "Na Na Na (Nice v/s Naughty) with “Indian Idol Junior” contestants for Hollywood film “The Smurfs 2”, considers sites like Facebook and YouTube as the right platforms to break into the music industry.

 

 “YouTube and Facebook are the right platform for people who have good music and talent. Today, I am recognised as an artist because of such sites,” Adhi told IANS.

 

 The 23-year-old started posting self-composed songs when he was studying in eighth grade. Back then it was just solo act, now he has a band named HipHop Tamizha that has music producer Jeeva Beatz.

 

 In 2012, the band released a song titled “Club le Mabbu le” and it received great response from listeners, thanks to Facebook.

 

 "On the first night of the release, there were around two lakh shares on Facebook," said Adhi, who received a call from Sony Music to compose a track for the Hollywood film.

 

 The rapper, who believes in doing everything on his own, including composing, recording, conceptualising videos, says that record labels give boost to music career. 

 

 "Record label gives you what you require. For instance, Sony helped me to get Pinky to write Hindi parts of 'Na…'," he said.

 

 The young composer would love to collaborate with people for Hindi films and also try different genres like folk, rock and many more.
