Standing ovation for Madhuri Dixit at IIFA

MadhuriDixit’s dance performance at 14th IIFA award ceremony at Macau was so gorgeous that she received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic audience. Her signature numbers “Dola re dola”, “Merapiyagharaaya”and“ Ek do teen”was so electrifying and flawless that people couldn’t resist respecting her with a standing ovation.
In a press conference held at the IIFA ceremony she talked about her latest releasing movie “Gulaab Gang” based generally on the social activist Sampat Pal from UP and the “Gulaab Gang” operating under her for reform activities. Madhuri is portraying a powerful and independent woman’s role in this movie anyway she denied that she is not a feminist but is liberal enough with opinions.
New directors of film industry are wonderful with clear vision and it is a welcoming concept that we are experimenting with films by taking it back to roots, she told. The real clash in this movie is between ideologies and villain of the movie is also a woman. 46 -year old Madhuri is happy that directors are willing to reflect women progress in films. JuhiChawla is also featured in this film directed by Soumik Sen.
