Worldfloat offers 50,000 online movies for free

Within a month of introducing a free movie service, social networking site Worldfloat said Sunday it now offers more than 50,000 films in English, Hindi and several regional Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi.
"We started the movie service in early November. Now we are offering more than 50,000 movies. This makes us the number one movie site in India," Worldfloat founder Pushkar Mahatta said.
He said in the first phase, the company introduced 18,000 English movies and 7,000 Hindi movies.
"Now we have movies available in almost all the regional Indian languages," he said adding over 6,000 movies were available in Tamil and 3,000 in Telugu.
The company also offers 2,500 movies in Bengali, 4,000 in Malayalam, 3,000 in Kannada, 500 in Punjabi, 500 in Oriya and 400 in Gujarati, among others.
Mahatta said within the languages the movies are divided into various genres such as action, comedy, thriller, sci-fi, romance, fantasy, horror, drama, family, war, mystery, crime, history and biography.
"Worldfloat has created search engines for all languages. Now you can choose the language of the movie you want to watch and also search for the movies by name," he added.
He said the search engine as well as the quantity of movies is the largest so far in India.
Mahatta said the search engine would tremendously boost traffic and substantially enhance the engagement time of users to an average of more than an hour.
"Movies are the biggest source of entertainment in the world. At Worldfloat, users can now access almost all the movies at a click of a button for free," he said.
Worldfloat, through its movie service, is giving tough competition to Facebook, Mahatta claimed, adding the company would soon introduce movies in languages like French, Italian and Japanese.
"The concentration of 50,000 movies in one website now makes Worldfloat the biggest entertainment website in India and the number one website for movies in the country," he said.
Worldfloat is India's homegrown social networking site with a user base of over 40 million. Apart from the social networking and free movie services, it also provides a search engine, video chat and news services.
