Delhi: On the Supreme Court ruling that stray dogs in Delhi-NCR must be released after sterilisation and vaccination, animal rights activist and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi says, “I am very happy because this is a settled policy. This has not just been said by one court—over 40 courts across the country have repeatedly upheld it. Until dogs are returned to their original locations, the programme cannot succeed, because MCD authorities were throwing them at random places…”Mrs. Gandhi also wants the court to define aggressive dog behaviour, as different people describe it based on their individual experiences with dogs.
