The Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital and Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank in Ranchi were on Tuesday lauded for their community service by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on the occasion of Doctors' Day.

 

The IMA Medachievers.com award – instituted by the Indian Medical Association – was conferred to the hospital charitable trust for its effort in combating blindness in rural Jharkhand.

 

"We are waging a relentless war against blindness in Jharkhand. Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital is known for its professional excellence, and has acquired India's first complete bladeless femto cataract surgery suite," said hospital director Bharti Kashyap.
