The Algerian People's National Army (ANP) killed five militants in the northern region Friday, the country's defence ministry said.

 

 The operation was carried in Boumerdes province, 55 km east of the capital Algiers, reported Xinhua citing the ministry in a statement. 

 

 "On Friday morning, a unit of the National Army conducted a quality operation, and five terrorists were killed in the locality of Dellys." 

 

 "As many as five Kalashnikov machine guns and ammunition were recovered," according to the statement.
