Georgia opens case of Jihad video suspect

Georgia's Interior Minister Irakli Gharibashvili Tuesday said that the person accused of releasing a terror video on behalf of Jihad in June has been detained and sent to pre-trial detention centre.
The terror video entitled "Taliban Jihad Against Georgian Troops in Afghanistan" was released June 6, shortly after the most deadly attack against Georgian troops in Afghanistan happened. A truck bomb killed seven Georgian soldiers in the incident.
The video threatened the lives of these troops by calling for a Jihad against the "crusaders" from the Caucasian state.Further details about the case would be released Thursday at a special briefing, reported Xinhua citing the official.
The identity of the detained suspect has been kept anonymous for the purpose of investigation while the case was opened a month ago but remained in secrecy for the sake of further investigation.
Georgia, with over 1,560 troops in Afghanistan, is now the largest non-NATO troop contributor to the International Security Assistance Force. It has so far lost 29 of its troops in the country.
