The Kenyan government has criticised the latest US travel advisory issued in the wake of a recent terror attack on a mall in the capital city of Nairobi, by terming it "unnecessary and uncalled for".
Washington should remove the travel advisory issued in the wake of the Westgate terror attack, which left 67 people dead and 175 injured and dozens more missing, reported Xinhua citing Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amina Mohamed.
"Terrorism, such as in the attack on Westgate Mall, is a global problem. The United States itself, has suffered terror attacks before, and so have other countries right across the globe," Mohamed said in a statement.
Kenyan security services ended the drama Tuesday after a group of attackers from Somalia-based Al-Shabaab stormed Nairobi's Westgate shopping mall at the weekend.
The US latest advisory came despite an appeal by Kenyan officials not to issue travel advisories against their country, but to work with the government to ensure the return of normalcy.
