The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will launch "Africa-India: Facts & Figures 2015", focussing on the sectors seeing the maximum engagement, on the margins of the India-Africa Forum Summit in New Delhi.
UNECA executive secretary Carlos Lopes, and CII director general Chandrajit Banerjee will launch the publication here on October 28, the penultimate day of the IAFS, which is being held October 26-29.
Lopes said that release of the publication was timely.
"This third India-Africa Forum Summit, to which 54 African countries are invited, is expected to result in a deeper engagement between India and Africa. For would-be investors from both India and Africa, we are pleased to showcase the width and breadth of investment potential," he said.
The compendium is based on an acknowledgement that India and Africa share a common understanding of a number of key sectoral issues such as micro, small and medium-scale enterprises and on importance of regulatory frameworks to spawn new ways of doing business.
India and Africa also share common objective of enhancing collaborative research and strengthening science and technology institutions, an official release said.
