Istanbul, Dec 23: Turkish prosecutors are trying to find out why the lone policeman who shot the Russian Ambassador in Ankara few days back was not caught alive and instead was shot down at the venue it self. 

The policeman who took the shot at the Ambassador could be seen in a video standing long after shooting at the diplomat and aggressively talking to the crowd about Apleepo and revenge and urged them to run away from the area before firing again. He was standing zone for enough time for the security officials to take him down and arrest him before shooting him. 

The prosecutors are trying to examine that why did the special forces who stormed the art gallery after the diplomat was shot at did not attempt to arrest Mevlut Mert Altintas alive. Intial findings suggest that the shooter carried on firing at the police shouting, “ you cannot capture me alive” before the officers shot him in the leg and later killed him. 

President Tayyip Erdogan defended the police actios and stead that, “ look what happened in Bestikas when they tried to capture an attacker alive.” He was referring to the bombings outside the stadium of Istanbul’s bestikas team.
