Talibani Terrorists attack army base in Islamabad killing two soldiers
Islamabad, Nov 26: Pakistan's army on Saturday reported that a mosque within the premises of an army base was attacked on Saturday. The resultant shootout killed all four terrorists along with two Pakistani soldiers as well.
The army said in a statement that 14 soldiers were wounded in the suicide attack responsibility for which has been claimed by a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, on Ghalani Camp in the Mohmand tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
Apparently the attackers wanted to enter the camp, they started shooting after they reached the mosque, where residents and a large number of recruits were present for mid day prayers. The attack comes at a time when the Taliban is trying to resurrect itself in a region which is showing signs of tilting more in favour of the ISIS than the erstwhile strong power of Taliban.
The Pakistani army over the course of couple years now has been involved in operations to hunt down and eliminate Talibani safe heavens in and around Paksitan, ever since the deadly school attack in Peshawar on the army school resulting in the deaths of hundreds of students and teachers.
