US President Donald Trump sacked his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson after a longer than expected "cold war" between the two. Trump announced that CIA Director Mike Pompeo will be replacing Tillerson.

Trump and Tillerson had their differences on many issues, especially on their stand towards China and North Korea and it was reported that Tillerson was called a 'moron' by Donald Trump in a meeting at Pentagon as well.

Tillerson in a press meet in October, had denied rumours about his resignation but never denied the 'moron' episode.

Rex Tillerson was appointed as the Secretary of State in October last year and was a confidante of Donald Trump during the initial stages of the government.
