Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has acquitted 11 accused in the 11 July 2006 Mumbai local train blasts case due to a lack of evidence. After the court’s decision, on Monday, BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya reached out to the victims of the blast and expressed disagreement with the court’s decision. He said, I not only disagree with the decision of the Bombay High Court case, but I am also hurt by it. After this decision, the victim’s family is asking whether the bomb blast did not happen. I have spoken to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and within the next two days, we will file an appeal after taking top legal advice. Ramesh Naik, who lost his daughter Nandini in the blast, said, “Were we alive for this day… we expect justice from the government…” At the same time, victims Hansraj Kanaujia and Mahendra also expressed grief over the court’s decision and said that they will appeal in the Supreme Court.
