Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan presented the ‘Mohammed Rafi Award’ to music artists at Rang Sharda Auditorium, Bandra, in Mumbai on Tuesday, December which was also the 100th birthday of the legendary singer.
The programme was organised by the Spandan Arts organisation on the occasion of Mohammad Rafi’s centenary.
The Governor was awarded the ‘Mohammad Rafi Lifetime Achievement Award’ to Majrooh Sultanpuri (posthumously), which was accepted by his son Andaleeb Sultanpuri, and ‘The Mohammad Rafi Award 2024’ to playback singer Javed Ali.
The Minister of Information Technology and Cultural Affairs, Adv. Ashish Shelar, Adv. Pratima Shelar and the esteemed families of Mohammad Rafi, Majrooh Sultanpuri, and Javed Ali graced the occasion with their presence.
