Mumbai: Zarine Khan, the mother of actor Zayed Khan and Sussanne Khan and the wife of yesteryear Bollywood star Sanjay Khan, died at the age of 81 from age-related illnesses.
Zarine Katrak, Hrithik Roshan’s mother-in-law, reportedly had age-related illnesses for some time. On Friday morning, she passed away at her Mumbai home.
Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan are Zarine’s three surviving children.
Zarine’s eldest daughter, Farah Khan Ali, is married to DJ Aqeel, their second daughter, Simone Arora, is married to businessperson Ajay Arora, while their youngest daughter is Sussanne Khan, who was formerly married to actor Hrithik Roshan. Their son Zayed is married to Malaika.
Zarine appeared on Farah Khan’s vlog eleven months ago, during which she gave the filmmaker-choreographer a house tour and served Irani mutton kofta.
According to reports, Sanjay and Zarine (then Katrak) met at a bus stop and were married in 1966. She dabbled in films like Ek Phool Do Mali and Tere Ghar Ke Saamne.
Actor, producer, and director Sanjay Khan is well-known for his roles in Hindi films and television shows.
In 1964, Sanjay Khan debuted in the Rajshri film Dosti, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Next, Sanjay appeared in Chetan Anand’s Haqeeqat.
Sanjay Khan starred in quite many hit movies like Dus Lakh, Ek Phool Do Mali, Intaquam, and Dhund. He co-starred with his elder brother Feroz Khan in the films Upaasna, Mela, and Nagin. He later turned producer and director with films like Chandi Sona and Abdullah.
In addition, Sanjay Khan directed and appeared in the well-known historical fiction television series The Sword of Tipu Sultan.
