Mumbai: Proving that creativity knows no age limit, educationist, writer and orator Devi Anandan launched her debut poetry collection, Mixed Bag – A Lifetime of Lessons, at a literary event hosted recently in Bandra, Mumbai.
The launch attracted personalities from the worlds of theatre, education, literature and media, with celebrated theatre personality Raell Padamsee unveiling the book in the presence of former senior media professional Joyce Arora, psychologist and author R. Giridharan, and educationist Anuradha Katial.
Describing the book as a celebration of lifelong learning, Padamsee said, “Books have the power to outlive generations. Devi Anandan’s journey reminds us that it is never too late to discover our creative voice and inspire others through it.”
The collection brings together poems inspired by decades of personal experiences, relationships, gratitude, resilience and hope. Speaking at the launch, Devi Anandan described the book as the fulfilment of a cherished dream. “Every poem carries a piece of my journey, my gratitude and the lessons life has generously taught me. I hope every reader finds a reflection of their own life within these pages,” she said.
Joyce Arora called the collection “a celebration of life’s simple yet profound moments”, while R. Giridharan observed that the author had successfully bridged education and literature through her writing.
Highlighting the vision behind the publication, Shobha Coutinho, founder and CEO of Midnight Media Solutions, publisher of the book, said the company aims to create opportunities for aspiring authors.
The evening featured an interactive conversation with the author, a lively audience Q&A, and a book-signing session, followed by networking among educators, writers and literary enthusiasts.
