Jaffer Mansuri, popularly known as Jaffer Bhai, founder of Delhi Darbar restaurant and Mumbai hotelier, “The King of Bombay Biryani” passed away at the age of 80. Jaffer wasn’t keeping well for some time and was being treated at Beach Candy Hospital.

Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeting about his death said, “He was known as the ‘biryani king’ of Mumbai.. he served the best dabba gosht in Mumbai.. Jaffarbhai of Mumbai’s Delhi durbar has passed away: thank you for many fine meals from college days till now.”

Many famous personalities expressed condolences as soon as the news spread. Jaffer who wasn’t keeping well was also tested Covid-19 positive although no official statement was released for this.
