Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh: On Ganga Dussehra, thousands gathered at Mahadevi Ghat for holy bathing, donations, and worship. Devotees enjoyed the fair, while over 300 police ensured security. Parking was arranged on both sides of the bridge for smooth traffic flow. As per the Hindu tradition, the Dashami Tithi (time) commenced at 11.54 pm on June 4 and will end at 2.15 am on June 6. The most auspicious time to bathe in the Ganges is Brahma Muhurat, which was between 4.02 am and 4.42 am on June 5. Ganga Dussehra, also known as Gangavataran, is a Hindu festival celebrating the avatarana of the Ganges. It is believed by Hindus that the holy river Ganges descended from heaven to earth on this day.
