Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh: Today, on the first Monday of Sawan, an extraordinary tradition was observed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Thousands of devotees from the Yadav community arrived with damrus and kalashas filled with Ganga water to perform jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath. Sawan or Shravan is a significant month in the Hindu calendar dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva.
