On Sunday Home Minister Amit Shah called for the jailing of students who raised anti-national slogans at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), apparently referring to the February 2016 incident. Former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar and 9 others were accused of raising anti-India slogans in JNU on February 9, 2016. Kumar and other student leaders Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya have been charged with sedition by Delhi police. Kumar, Khalid and Bhattacharya have been arrested and released on bail later.
Speaking at a rally in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, Amit Shah said Some JNU students raised anti-India slogans, saying "India is going to break into thousands of parts, inshallah, inshallah." You don't think they're going to get thrown into jails? Those who raise anti-national slogans will take their place behind bars.
