Ahmedabad, Gujarat: One year has passed since the Ahmedabad plane crash, but the horrific memories of the tragedy remain etched in people’s minds. On June 12, 2025, Air India flight AI-171, bound for London, crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel in Meghani Nagar shortly after take-off. The disaster claimed the lives of 241 of the 242 people on board, along with 19 people on the ground. Only one passenger survived the crash.

On the first anniversary of the Ahmedabad plane crash, the United Kingdom’s current British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, visited the crash site to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
