35 nomination papers rejected in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Jan 31: Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, a total of thirty-five nomination papers have been rejected in Uttarakhand, the Election Commission reported on Tuesday, leaving behind 687 candidates for the 70 seat assembly which goes to polls on February 15. 

Most nomination papers were rejected due to discrepancies in the paper work, the maximum of 10 rejections were reported from Dehradun.Nomination papers of all the candidates of the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party were found in order.
 
In all, 722 nominations were filed, the maximum of 22 in Dharampur. The EC declared Wednesday to be the last day for withdrawing nomination papers.
