AAP failed as it went beyond constitution: Sheila Dikshit

Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit Saturday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government failed because it started to go "beyond the constitution".
"Though AAP tried to tackle Delhi's problem, but I don't think they succeeded because they started going beyond the constitution… and that is when they really failed," said Dikshit.
She said the Congress supported the AAP government, thinking they will fulfil all the people-friendly points and promises made in the past and in their their party manifesto.
When asked if the Congress was expecting early assembly polls, Dikshit said that it was for the Lt. governor to decide. "It is for the Lt. governor and the home ministry to decide when the polls can be conducted," she said.
Kejriwal Friday resigned as the chief minister after Congress and BJP legislators "defeated" AAP's attempts to introduce the Jan Lokpal bill. Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung had earlier written to Speaker M.S. Dhir saying the bill should not be tabled in the assembly as he has not approved it.
However, Kejriwal was adamant on introducing his pet bill in the assembly and announced his resignation later at his party office when the bill could not introduced.
