Amethi gets AIR FM channel

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi Wednesday inaugurated an All India Radio (AIR) FM station here.
According to the AIR, the FM Rainbow station will offer digital sound quality to the listeners of Amethi, which is a Congress stronghold and currently represented by Rahul Gandhi.
"Programmes, along with hourly news broadcasts from AIR, Lucknow, will be relayed to Amethi. The channel will entertain, inform and educate the people, especially the youth," the AIR said in a statement.
"It will be available between 6 a.m. to 12 midnight at 103.1 meter band. It will serve a radius of 30 km," the statement added.
This is the third FM station to be launched in the state in the last three months after Rae Bareli and Lakhimpur Kheri, AIR said.
With the addition of the Amethi FM channel, All India Radio's network now includes 412 stations and 583 transmitters.
